CHL Playoff Race Update

President's Cup

The Rapid City Rush seen their lead on the fourth and final home ice spot dwindle to two points, after Missouri and Denver both won Tuesday night. Missouri handled Bloomington 5-2, while the Cutthroats were paced by their top line of Brad Smyth-AJ Gale-Troy Schwab, in defeating the Rush 2-1.

Rapid City and Denver will meet again Sunday in Denver.

A little further down the standings, the Arizona Sundogs reclaimed 7th place with a 7-2 thumping of the Tulsa Oilers Tuesday night. The Quad City Mallards have two games in hand on the Sundogs, which could prove vital down the stretch.

Looking Ahead: The Wichita Thunder and Fort Worth will meet tomorrow evening at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, in a battle for second place. In the season series, Wichita has a 5-2 record against the Brahmas this year, but lost the last time these two teams hooked up on December 31st.

The Thunder will be without the services of forward Matt Robinson, who is suspended one game due to a slewfoot incident.

I firmly believe the team that wins this game, will be the 2nd seed in the President’s Cup Playoffs.
